The National Weather Service determined that a strong F1 tornado with winds up to 110 mph touched down in Dillsburg, York County, and Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, early Wednesday morning (8/31/05) and another F1 tornado touched down in Adams County.
The tornado started around 1:17 a.m. near the intersection of Old Route 15 and Creek Road. The twister moved north across Yellow Breeches Creek into Cumberland County, through the Ashebombe Farms South development and ended along Stumpstown Road around 1:22 a.m.
